About Maria
I am a 1st Year Biochemistry student at University of Birmingham. I am able to tutor Maths, Science and History up to GCSE level. Can also tutor English and Religious Studies in certain areas up to GCSE level. I spent a year as a teaching assistant with a year 8 maths class for 2 hours per week, helping out students who were struggling on particular areas or needed help advancing in their work. When tutoring a student, I would identify the best way the student learns and produce a few methods to aid the best learning possible for the student. To ensure that the student was learning efficiently, I would carry out small, regular quizzes in order to check progress but to ensure that there wasn't too much pressure put on the student. I would additionally set occasional extra work to allow the student more time to spend on work that can then be assessed afterwards.
