About Margot
I know first-hand what it feels like to be on the other side of a tutoring session. During my own NCEA years, I was tutored in English with a focus on striving for Excellence and that experience stuck with me. Having a tutor who believed in pushing me to my potential showed me how much of a difference the right support can make. It's something I carry into every session I teach, and it's a big part of why I genuinely care about helping my students not just get by, but do their best.

My sessions are one hour long and aim to be relaxed, no pressure, just us working through maths together.
I focus on building real understanding rather than memorising steps. We'll work through problems at your pace, targeting exactly where you're getting stuck, questioning why the math works. Every session is tailored to what you need that day, whether it's keeping up with class, preparing for an exam, or finally making sense of an old topic that's never quite clicked.
I'm a 3rd-year Mechanical Engineering student at UC, so maths is something I use every day. At school I completed maths a year ahead of my peers, finishing with Excellence endorsement and topping my school's advanced maths class. I have tutored 30 first-year university students in my hall and worked one on one tutoring an NCEA Level 2 student. I'm happy to teach Level 1, 2, or 3.
