About ILDIKO

I am a bilingual English teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Education (1994). I have taught English as a foreign language to hundreds of people from all over the world. Because I have lived and worked in five different countries, I have extensive knowledge of cultural differences and particular language problems learners face. I love working with children. I have also taught in the UK education system KS1+2.

About the lesson

The main focus of the workshop is to develop the 4 most important skills for future success: the 4Cs = communication, collaboration, creative thinking and critical thinking.

I use two methodologies to achieve the above: PLB= project based learning and CLIL= content and language integrated learning which means that each workshops has a ‘product’ at the end (project) that the children work on during the workshop. The activities they engage in allow them to learn the target language (English) as part of the learning process.

I teach children through creative play. We do many different activities from watching videos through creating a farm, making a LEGO castle, to planting beans.

Parents tell me that children thoroughly enjoy the workshops and learn the language with ease.

On a personal note,
Teaching children is fun. They are naturally playful. According to the parents I have OODLES of patience. I do not notice it because I do not find kids testing or annoying. They learn their own way. My job is to pay attention and enter their flow the best I can. Learning happens on their terms not on mine.

Details

Children age groups are 5-7 or 8-11.
Please note that workshops with children under the age of 5-7 are 90-min long and for children between the age of 8-11, workshops are 2,5 hours long. The minimum number of children for each group is two, maximum is six.
Please note that prices indicated are per child per session (not per hour!)
Children under the age of 8 need some adult supervision during the workshop.
If manageable please organise children in minimum twos at one location so they can collaborate in person. It is not essential.
