About Connor
Who I am
I'm Connor, a systems engineer based in Bristol with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. I've spent the last five years working across defence and nuclear engineering — the kind of work where getting the maths and physics wrong isn't an option, and where I've had to explain complex technical ideas clearly to people who don't have an engineering background. That's exactly the skill I bring to tutoring.
Why I teach
I remember exactly what it felt like to sit in a maths or physics class and not get it — and then to have a teacher explain it in a way that suddenly made sense. That moment of things clicking is something I want to give back to students now. I also think a lot of school maths and physics gets taught in the abstract, disconnected from anything real, which makes it harder to care about. Since I use these subjects every day in actual engineering work, I can show students where the ideas come from and why they matter — not just how to pass the exam.
I'm patient by nature and genuinely enjoy the process of breaking a problem down until it makes sense. My goal isn't just to get a grade up, but to leave students more confident that they can actually think their way through a hard problem — a skill that outlasts any exam.

Maths & Physics Tutor — Aerospace Engineer, 5+ Years' Industry Experience
Hi, I'm Connor — a systems engineer based in Bristol with a background in aerospace engineering and five years' experience working on high-integrity engineering projects across the defence and nuclear sectors.
I tutor Maths and Physics from KS3 through to A-Level, with a particular strength in the areas students often find hardest: mechanics, trigonometry, algebra, and applied problem-solving. Because I use these fundamentals daily in my actual job, I can show students not just how to pass an exam, but why the maths works and where it's genuinely used — which tends to make abstract topics click.
I'm patient, structured, and good at breaking complex ideas into manageable steps (it's what my day job requires). I know exam boards can feel like a maze, so I focus on exam technique alongside genuine understanding, so progress sticks rather than being crammed.
Available evenings and weekends. Happy to do one-off exam prep sessions or ongoing weekly support.
