About Jayleigh

I take a student-centered approach, tailoring each lesson to the learner’s goals, whether developing technique, learning repertoire, or preparing for exams. I combine theory with practical playing, encouraging musicality, expression, and confidence at the keyboard. I have studied the AMEB Piano syllabus for over 16 years and have experience in bands and Church assemblies within my high school journey.

About the lesson

Lessons are typically 60 minutes in length and are thoughtfully structured to provide a balanced and comprehensive learning experience. Each session begins with warm-ups to develop physical coordination, flexibility, and focus, followed by technique exercises that build strength, accuracy, and control. Students then work on repertoire, applying their skills to pieces that match their interests and level, while integrating musical expression and interpretation. When appropriate, lessons also include review and instruction in music theory to deepen understanding and support practical playing skills.

My lessons cater to learners of all ages, from children taking their first steps in music to adults seeking to enhance technique, refine musical expression, or prepare for graded exams and performances. Every lesson is personalized, ensuring that the content and pace align with the student’s individual level, learning style, and personal goals. This tailored approach encourages steady progress, builds confidence, and fosters a lifelong appreciation for music, while making each session engaging, challenging, and enjoyable.
