I have been taught Graphic Design by Mrs. Robinson for over two years now, and I can truthfully say that she is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She takes the time to create lessons that fit each student's artistic goals and always provides honest and detailed feedback. Her impressive knowledge of digital platforms like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as physical mediums like hand-drawn typography and traditional illustration, is shown through her teaching. Ms. Robinson has truly made a tremendous impact on me. During my sophomore year of high school, I decided to branch out of my comfort zone and take a graphic design class with her. Since this was something brand new to me, I was very nervous that my lack of experience would affect my ability to keep up with my peers. Ms. Robinson immediately made me feel so welcome and comfortable, transforming those nerves into pure excitement to learn from her. She strives to thoroughly work with each student and manage her time in class to provide guidance and clarification when needed. During my first days in graphic design, I remember she would check in with us individually to make sure we were on the right path while doing our assigned activities. As I watched her make her way through the row of computers, I would start panicking, worried that I did something wrong. Instead, she would come over to my desk and express admiration for my work while also giving me the constructive feedback that was necessary for my progress. That gave me the perfect balance of encouragement and authority that awarded me the confidence I needed to become a skilled graphic designer. She puts time and effort into the structure of each lesson she teaches, ensuring that her students have a clear understanding of them. She also never tries to demoralize a student for making a mistake, rather helps them use it as an asset to grow in their artistry. For every project I made, she had my best interest in mind, allowing me to exhibit my own creativity and giving helpful suggestions along the way. Each project of mine got consistently better and it's an honor to say I owe that fully to the skills she taught me. She exudes a passion for graphic design and teaching it that induced my own passion for it as well. Ms. Robinson possesses strong qualities that make her the epitome of a great, trustworthy teacher and I am forever grateful for her.
