About Douglas
I am an Artist, Designer and Instructor of Visual Arts with more than 3o years of professional experience teaching students of all ages from kindergarten through college. I have experience teaching in both public and private schools, in college and university with professional experience as Artist, Illustrator, Industrial Designer, and Creative Arts Therapist in the field of mental health with both adults and adolescents. Supervision of fellow art teachers, designers and professors. B.A., Visual Arts, Rutgers University, M.A., Art Education, The University of the Arts, Ph.D., Education, Newburgh College.

My teaching approach is always organized, designed and implemented based on the learning need, style and preference of each student. Lessons begin with diagnostic assessment and evaluation of a student's present knowledge, skills and interests. Then, instruction can be most effectively developed for the goals of the student. Instruction objectives are set to achieve goals while challenging students to progress, develop and grow.
