I look for, and love to have students with some amount of passion for art; for it is this emotion that will truly fructify the student-teacher association.
Art, when embraced with true and honest emotions, tends to become a meditation. You lose the time-count; it's just you and your art!

Whatever be the student's level, his/her control, hold on the basic fundamentals is very crucial for any further growth; And that is how they need to be assessed.
It is important for an aspiring artist to know the true definition of 'Art' and the 'Artist'. If you read what Sir Pope John Paul II had written, in a letter, for the artists of the world, you will know all.
In the last 15 years I've held workshops, classes attended by school/college students, management students, corporate executives, engineers, artists, teachers, professors, lecturers, business women, housewives; And I found one thing - If there is even that trickle of an aptitude or passion; both the learner and the teacher will find joy working together.
