About Gus
I am a working commercial artist/cartoonist and a NY State Certified Vocational Commercial Art Instructor (Level II). I have been in business for more than forty years and I have been teaching painting and drawing skills to students of all ages, kids, adults and seniors since 1981. Over the years, I have developed a unique and very effective method for teaching how to draw and paint beautiful works of art.

Basically, I first determine each student's (or group of students') level of ability to begin. Once we have that established, we move forward in a step-by-step process to cover and fill in the gaps. Every student is different. Every student has specific strengths and talents that can be supercharged with proper instruction and "weak" areas that can be remedied with patience and personal attention. My goal is to help each student become the type of artist they want to be. I am the author and publisher of specific workbooks on the subjects I teach. They are available to my students as digital downloads and add an important dynamic to my lessons.
