About Kristy
Hello! A little bit about me! I am passionate about helping learners discover their strengths and achieve their goals. My background in education, coaching, and student support has taught me that every learner is unique and deserves an approach that meets their individual needs.
I strive to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. Whether we are working on academic skills, health and wellness concepts, study strategies, or personal goal-setting, I focus on making learning engaging, relevant, and connected to real-life experiences.
Students and families often appreciate my patience, strong communication skills, and ability to build meaningful relationships. I believe that confidence is one of the most important ingredients for success, and I work hard to help learners develop both their skills and their self-belief.
My goal is not only to help students improve academically but also to empower them with the tools, strategies, and confidence they can carry forward into all areas of life. I look forward to supporting you on your learning journey!

My Teaching Methodology and Techniques
I use a student-centered, experience-based approach that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and real-world application. Rather than relying solely on memorization, I help students understand concepts through discussion, hands-on activities, movement, problem-solving, and relatable examples. I differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and learning styles, ensuring that every student feels supported and challenged at an appropriate level.
A Typical Lesson
Each lesson begins with a brief check-in and review of previous learning to activate prior knowledge. Together, we establish clear learning goals and success criteria. New concepts are introduced through engaging examples, guided practice, and interactive activities. Students then have opportunities to apply their learning independently while receiving ongoing feedback and support. Lessons conclude with reflection, goal setting, and discussion of how the learning can be applied in everyday life.
What Sets Me Apart
With over a decade of experience working with children and youth in educational settings, combined with my background as a coach and Educational Assistant, I understand that learning is about more than academics. I focus on building confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset while helping students achieve their goals. My ability to connect with learners, create meaningful relationships, and make learning relevant to real-life situations allows students to feel comfortable, motivated, and successful.
