About Niels
I am currently working on my Master's thesis in Oslo, although I originally come from the Netherlands. As part of my time here, I am learning Norwegian, which has been an exciting challenge. Outside of my academic work, I am an avid runner and nature enthusiast. On weekends, I love exploring the trails around Oslo, immersing myself in the beautiful landscapes.

I have had the privilege of teaching Mathematics and Science at the Bachelor's level to my fellow students, a role I thoroughly enjoyed. This experience not only strengthened my understanding of these subjects but also ignited my passion for teaching. It’s incredibly rewarding to see peers grasp complex concepts and apply them effectively. My approach as a tutor centers around creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. I believe in adapting my teaching methods to suit the unique needs of each student. I focus on breaking down complicated theories into simpler, more digestible parts and use a range of examples to illustrate how these concepts are applied in real-life scenarios. I also encourage active participation through problem-solving exercises and discussions, making sure that students feel comfortable asking questions. A typical lesson plan involves first revisiting key concepts and addressing any confusion. I then introduce new material with clear explanations and examples. Throughout the lesson, I incorporate plenty of practice exercises to reinforce understanding, ensuring that students can apply their knowledge independently. I finish each lesson with a brief recap and give students the opportunity to ask questions or reflect on what they've learned.
