About Sarah
Hello, I’m Sarah. I hold a degree in Biochemistry and have a strong passion for helping students build confidence in math and science. My academic background has given me a deep understanding of problem-solving, critical thinking, and effective study strategies, which I bring into every lesson. I also practice this every day as a certified Ontario Math and Science teacher. I understand that subjects like math, biology, chemistry, and physics can feel overwhelming, and I enjoy helping students turn confusion into clarity.
I am patient, supportive, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I believe that every student is capable of success with the right guidance and clear explanations. My goal is not only to help improve grades, but also to help students feel more confident and independent in their abilities.
I have experience working with Ontario high school curriculum expectations and understand the importance of building strong foundational skills that prepare students for tests, exams, and future courses. I focus on simplifying complex ideas, developing strong problem-solving habits, and helping students stay organized and motivated.
Students and parents can expect professionalism, reliability, and lessons that are structured to support steady progress. I take pride in being approachable, encouraging, and responsive to each student’s individual needs. Seeing students gain confidence and begin to understand concepts that once felt difficult is the most rewarding part of tutoring for me.
I look forward to supporting students on their learning journey and helping them achieve their academic goals.

My teaching approach is student-centered, structured, and supportive. I believe that every student can succeed in math and science when concepts are explained clearly and built step by step. With a degree in Biochemistry, I have a strong foundation in problem solving and analytical thinking, which allows me to break down complex topics into simple, understandable pieces. My goal is not just to help students complete homework, but to help them truly understand the material so they can apply it confidently on tests and future courses.
My teaching methodology focuses on clarity, patience, and active learning. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, gaps, and learning style. From there, I explain concepts using straightforward language, visual examples, and guided practice. I encourage students to ask questions freely and I regularly check for understanding to ensure they feel confident before moving forward. I also teach problem-solving strategies that help students approach new questions independently.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material to reinforce understanding. We then work through new concepts together, followed by practice questions that gradually increase in difficulty. I provide step-by-step guidance and show students how to organize their work clearly, which is especially helpful for math and science courses. Lessons end with a short summary and recommendations for practice so students continue improving between sessions.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain difficult concepts in a calm, supportive way that reduces frustration and builds confidence. I understand that many students feel overwhelmed by math and science, so I focus on creating a positive learning environment where mistakes are part of the learning process. My background in Biochemistry allows me to connect concepts across biology, chemistry, physics, and math, helping students see how topics fit together instead of memorizing information in isolation.
My lessons are designed for Ontario high school students taking math, science, biology, chemistry, or physics courses. I can support students who need help keeping up with class material, improving grades, preparing for tests, or strengthening foundational skills for future courses. Lessons are suitable for students who prefer a patient and structured approach, including those who feel they need extra time or clear explanations to fully understand concepts.
I aim to help students become more independent learners while improving both their grades and confidence in STEM subjects.
