About Thalente
Hello! My name is Thalente. I am a dedicated and passionate educator holding a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics. My journey in academic instruction is built on a deep love for numbers and a proven ability to help students unlock their full potential.
Between 2018 and 2023, I spent five highly successful years actively tutoring. During this time, I had the privilege of helping numerous learners bridge their knowledge gaps, conquer complex concepts, and secure admissions into prestigious STEM degrees at some of the top universities in the country. Additionally, I have guided first-year university students to transition smoothly into higher-level mathematics and achieve impeccable academic results.
Following this period, I temporarily paused my private tutoring services to prioritise my own academic advancement and professional growth, focusing on my postgraduate studies and key work commitments. Now, equipped with even deeper analytical expertise and a renewed passion for teaching, I am back to help the next group of students succeed.

I believe that every student has a unique learning style, which is why my tutoring begins with a diagnostic assessment (tests). These tests help me understand the depth of your current knowledge. From there, I build a personalised, tailored lesson plan specifically designed to match your academic level, helping you progress and improve at a pace that works for you.
What makes my lessons unique is this highly structured, data-driven approach combined with patient, step-by-step guidance. I don't just teach you how to solve a problem; I teach you how to master the underlying concepts.
What to Expect in a Typical Lesson
- Review & Warm-up: We start by clearing up any lingering questions from previous topics or schoolwork.
- Concept Breakdown: I introduce new mathematical concepts using clear, simplified visual aids and step-by-step examples.
- Interactive Practice: We work through problems together, gradually shifting the pen to you so you can build independent problem-solving confidence.
- Feedback: We wrap up with a quick recap of what was learned and lay out the goals for our next session.
