About Sam

I work as an academic mentor, helping students with their GCSE Maths and Science. First Class degrees from the University of Cambridge: MSci and BA in Physics. 9 years experience achieving top marks in exams from GCSE to Master's degree.

About the lesson

First lesson is a FREE consultation to find out about the student. I am offering these subjects and levels:
*Maths and further maths KS3 - KS5. This is pre-GCSE all the way to the end of A-level, and includes Further Maths.
*Physics KS3 - KS5. Again, pre-GCSE to the end of A level.
*Chemistry KS3-KS4.
My tutoring approach is highly individualised with the freedom for the student to have an influence over the way they learn. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the student, I provide strong reinforcement in areas where the student appears to struggle and use a multi-faceted approach where necessary. FOR STUDENTS TAKING EXAMS: consistent exam questions, relevant to each session, help students get familiar with the style and how best to answer these questions when they get to exam day. This approach can also help students quell their exam anxiety. Fundamentally, the aim of the lessons is to provide students with the skills to convert their high learning potential into successful results. Instilling students with a deep sense of understanding is key to give them the confidence to succeed.

Sam prepares his lesson very thoroughly, structuring the content well, hence, my son experienced that ‘light bulb’ moment after only a few lessons which boosted his confidence and led to more success moments.
