About Luke
Hello!
I am a current 4th year chemistry student at the University of St Andrews, and I am looking to help students improve their chemistry, maths and computer science knowledge!
My main focus is in chemistry, and all the wonders associated with it, in which a strong foundation in practical skills (and many hours in the labs) and a love for the subject have helped make me a good tutor in the course. Along with this, maths is a fundamental part of any physical science, and chemistry is no exception, which helps prepare me to tutor maths at a high grade A-level standard.
Computer science might seem quite different from the chemistry (and it really is!), but after successfully achieving an A* in A-Level Computer Science, and my passion for software development and technology, I am fully equipped to tutor this new and exciting course.

The lessons I am prepared to give mainly focus on GCSE to A-Level, with some ability to help tutor early year undergraduate chemists.
The main way I teach is by simplification with analogies, being able to take a quite complicated topic and break it down to its constituent meaning. For me, this helps build a strong foundation which helps feed in to my second main way of teaching, application.
Almost anyone could cram a page worth of knowledge in, but what really makes the difference and best students are those who truly learn the insides out of the content, who understand it fully and can therefore apply it to a possible unknown question.
