Hello, my name is Alvin and I am a dedicated Computer Science Graduate with a strong passion for teaching and mentoring. With experience in programming, computer systems, and cybersecurity, as well as proven leadership roles, I bring both technical expertise and the ability to guide students with patience and clarity. My approach to tutoring is interactive and student-focused. I believe every learner has a unique pace and style, so I adapt my lessons to match individual needs. I use practical examples, real-world applications, and problem-solving exercises to make concepts clear and engaging. For coding and technical subjects, I emphasize hands-on practice with live problem-solving. For language lessons, I encourage conversation, role-play, and gradual vocabulary building to boost confidence.
A typical lesson lasts between **50–60 minutes**, long enough to cover theory, practice, and review without overwhelming the learner. For younger students or beginners, I may adjust to shorter sessions to maintain focus.
In terms of qualifications, I am a **Computer Science student at Meru University of Science and Technology** with a strong foundation in **Java, C, C++, HTML, CSS, data structures, databases, computer architecture, systems analysis and design, and computer security**. I have also developed projects such as a fantasy football bot and a mental health app. My background includes leadership roles as a **rugby captain and dormitory leader**, and I hold a certification from Cisco. I also speak **English, Swahili, and Russian**, which helps me connect with diverse learners.
My lessons are designed for **high school students, university students, and adult learners** who want to improve their coding skills, learn computer science fundamentals, or develop fluency in English, Swahili, or Russian.
