About Fyodor

My name is Fyodor, and I offer a level of mentorship backed by twenty-five years of presence at the pinnacle of the music industry. My legitimacy as an educator is rooted in a career that spans the globe’s most iconic stages—from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House—and is validated by the highest authorities in music.

My professional standing is distinguished by the trust placed in me by the Rachmaninoff family, who authorised me as the first musician to orchestrate Sergei Rachmaninoff’s lost Suite in D minor. Having recorded this world premiere at Abbey Road Studios and received critical acclaim from The Times and BBC Radio 3, I bring a "living history" into the classroom. Students do not just learn notes; they learn the standards of excellence required by the world's most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House.

My teaching is underpinned by an elite dual-conservatory education. I am a graduate of both the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona. This background allows me to offer my students a rare "best of both worlds" approach: the rigorous technical discipline of the Russian school combined with the versatile, creative sensibilities of European and British musical traditions.

Whether preparing a young student for their first ABRSM exam or coaching an advanced pianist for entry into the Royal College of Music, I maintain the utmost professionalism. My approach is structured, reliable, and deeply committed to the individual success of every student. You are not just hiring a tutor; you are partnering with an artist of international standing who has proven their mastery on world-class stages.

About the lesson

Distinguished Piano Mentorship with Fyodor

My Methodology & Approach
My teaching offers a unique synthesis of the Russian piano school traditions (Moscow Conservatory) and the refined standards of British higher musical education. I move away from rigid, conservative methods to provide a dynamic and inspiring environment. My priority is to identify the unique personal qualities of each student, ensuring lessons are engaging while fostering deep musical intelligence and technical freedom.

Qualifications & Experience
I am a graduate of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona. With 15 years of international experience—from performing at Carnegie Hall to recording at Abbey Road—I bring a wealth of professional insight to my students. My background allows me to bridge the gap between rigorous academic discipline and the creative demands of the modern music industry.

Programs & Exam Preparation
I provide comprehensive coaching for all musical milestones, including:

ABRSM Grades (1-8) and Diploma levels.

A-level Music preparation.

Audition coaching for elite institutions like the Royal College of Music.

Preparation for international competitions and concert performances.

Expert tuition in piano, composition, and theory.

Who the Lessons Are For
I welcome students of all levels, from children (ages 6+) to adults. Whether you are a beginner picking up the instrument for the first time or an advanced pianist refining your professional repertoire, I tailor my curriculum to meet your specific ambitions.

Lesson Structure
Typical sessions last 60 to 90 minutes. This duration is ideal for balancing technical exercises with creative exploration and nuanced repertoire work.
