About Efrata

Hi! My name is Efrata, I am 20 living in London, I was Born and raised in Switzerland and Boston and have been doing fine art my whole life. Last year I completed the Foundation degree in the University of the Arts London, Central St Martins where I was awarded a distinction level grade and moved to do my BA in Fashion Design in the University of Westminster, London. Over the years I've learnt that I love to show others the beauty of art as therapy and self expression as it has helped me find myself in middle school and high school. When I first started teaching art to my younger brother I was able to see how taking an hour or two everyday to just "mark make" and have fun can improve communication and engagement skills which is why I love to work with younger kids as well. Since high school I also found that fashion was another way I was able to best communicate and use as a platform for social commentary, and since i've created a lot of projects and designs where I was able to merge my love for fine art with fashion. Ive worked for many designers and have made a multitude of portfolios for a multitude of reasons and learnt a lot about what this industry is looking for. I have a large skill set, a lot of different experiences and am very organised so I know I am able to help in more ways than one so feel free to contact me!

About the lesson

- Art classes for beginners: We can always just have fun! Art is supposed to help us understand ourselves whilst simultaneously finding new ways to express our emotions and a platform to communicate. Finding your drawing style is tricky and very unique to an individual but I’ve learnt faster and funner ways to find what style resonates the best with you.
- Therapeutic art: Exploring different mark making techniques (different techniques of find line drawings, pastels, charcoal, paint mediums like oil paints, acrylics, water colors, collage, mix mediums) will ultimately allow you to understand yourself better and no matter what field you’re in or want to be in, artistic expression will always be a medium for self expression and realisation.
- Fashion illustrations: learn not only how to draw a garment on a figure but also create a muse, communicate the atmosphere and mood of your ideas through illustrations, and fun ways to draw different fabric textures and silhouettes.
- Fashion portfolio Guidance: Guidance on the many different ways we can get from a concept to a final outcome.
- Help for projects, design development and concept research (which will always be approached with global awareness and sensitivity)

Details

The first Lesson will be free, It will be online where we perform a couple icebreakers to get comfortable and I will then leave the space open for you to tell me what you hope to gain from the lessons, and what your goals are. From then on, I will make an action plan where each session will be planned in accordance to goals set for that week/ day/ month. For in-person sessions I will supply most artistic materials which will include: Mark making equipment, paints, charcoals, and paper.
