About Lucy
I’ve now been a student for 17 years, through primary, secondary, sixth form and university, and am on a placement year towards my degree currently. Having spent so much time on one side of the classroom, I feel I'm well equipped to help young people advance their skills in mathematics. In my free time, I’m also a musician! I play clarinet and enjoy the theory behind written music too.

Maths is hard! I struggled with it at GCSE, but went on to succeed at A Level and now on an MEng degree with the help of amazing teachers! I’d love to pass on their experience to young people working at a pre-GCSE to GCSE level. My lessons would include:
- Identifying techniques and why we use them(with some helpful tips and tricks)
- worked examples in tandem with the student
- personalised questions (done individually) to tackle areas of weakness. This is always tricky, but so important to really understand the maths you’re doing.
