About Pamela
I have been a Kindergarten -2nd grade teacher for 20 years. I have twice been a finalist for Teacher of the Year in our district of over 6,000 teachers. I believe young children learn best by "doing". It is important for students to internalize and find meaning in what they are expected and want to know. I always provide a hands on approach to learning with manipulatives, movement and chants/songs, as well as information from brain research to maximize the learning potential of each student.

I use a hands on active approach to teaching reading and math. I believe children learn Math best by constructing meaning, and working from hands on, to written, then mental math. Reading and writing are taught simultaneously using a tactile and movement approach.
I will gladly work with Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade students who have fallen behind because of Covid, or who wish to get ahead with early literacy or Math development. Each lesson will consist of 45-60 minutes of instruction and activities/games that reinforce the skill(s) being addressed.
