Experienced and passionate primary school teacher - Maths tutor with Amanda

I was Amanda's NQT tutor in academic year 2013-2014 where I supported Amanda and carried out lesson observations. I have carried out lessons observations more recently too. Amanda is hard working and dedicated to her role as a teacher. The children in her class are eager to learn as she motivates them by making her lessons interesting and challenging. Amanda's subject knowledge is good and she pitches her lessons well to ensure all children are learning. She has worked with a range of ability levels; she has been able to challenge gifted and talented and she is good at breaking down steps to learning for children who need additional support.

Miss Hitchen has worked at XII Apostles RCPS for over 5 years and is responsible for teaching year 4 pupils. She is required to deliver the Natonal Curriculum in all areas. She has a sound subject knowledege for the age range that she teaches as evidenced through regular monitoring of lessons. Miss Hitchen plans and assesse daily . She gives careful thought and consideration how to engage and enthuse the children in their learning. In addition Miss Hitchen leads science and design technology throughout the school. She runs an after school choir which is popular and well attended. Miss Hitchen is a highly valuaued member of our team here at XII Apostles. Mrs Sheenagh Newton Headteacher
