About Hazel

I am a dedicated and experienced artist and tutor, committed to helping students unlock their full creative potential. With years of personal practice in drawing, painting, and calligraphy, combined with experience teaching in a Buddhist class setting, I bring both expertise and passion to every lesson. My teaching methodology is designed to build confidence, skill, and self-expression. I take a patient and structured approach, breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand steps. I provide clear demonstrations, practical exercises, and ongoing feedback to ensure steady progress. My goal is not just to teach techniques, but to empower students to find their own artistic voice.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring:

I believe in fostering a positive and creative learning environment, where students feel comfortable exploring their artistic abilities while building foundational skills. My teaching methodology is a blend of structured guidance and creative freedom, tailored to each student's level and needs. I emphasize understanding key principles such as composition, color theory, and technique, while also encouraging personal expression and experimentation. This balance helps students build confidence and develop a unique artistic voice.

Techniques and Methodology:

Step-by-step instruction: I break down complex concepts into manageable steps, guiding students through the learning process.

Practical demonstrations: I incorporate live demonstrations of techniques, allowing students to learn by doing.

Feedback and encouragement: I provide constructive feedback that focuses on improvement while maintaining an open, supportive environment.

Personalized approach: I adapt lessons based on the individual’s progress, skill level, and personal interests.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
Lessons generally last between 60 to 90 minutes, allowing enough time for a mix of theory, practice, and discussion. Longer sessions can be scheduled depending on the student’s needs.

Qualifications and Experience:
I have experience teaching drawing in a Buddhist class setting, where I helped students of varying skill levels develop their artistic abilities. Additionally, I have years of personal practice in drawing (pencil, watercolor, poster color) and calligraphy, which allows me to teach a wide range of artistic techniques. I have honed my ability to explain concepts clearly and to adapt my teaching style for different learning paces and backgrounds.

Target Audience:
My lessons are suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to intermediate artists. I teach students of all ages, from children looking to explore creativity
