About Eric

I am a passionate software engineer at FactSet in London who graduated with a first-class degree from the University of Edinburgh. I have been passionate about learning and computer science since the age of 16. Since then I achieved straight A's in high school and moved onto getting into one of the top universities in the country. At university I achieved a first-class degree and honed my skills in my favourite areas of computing such as frontend development, object-oriented programming, cyber security and blockchains. Straight after university I was offered a software engineering position at FactSet in London which I currently work. Here I have been proud to develop some top of the industry software and more recently the integration of LLMs into our system The academic and professional success in my career stems not merely from formal education, but from applying learning strategies derived from academic research and trial and error with myself. I have a proven track record of tutoring in computer science-related subjects across all levels from GCSE to university level. My tutoring framework is crafted meticulously, taking an evidence-based approach to enhance learning retention. I employ effective pedagogical strategies such as spaced active recall to enhance memory consolidation of concepts covered. My lessons are not only engaging and interactive but are also structured with the optimal absorption of knowledge in mind. Each 1-hour session is divided into 45 minutes of deep-dive instruction, with the remaining 15 devoted to interactive learning, a structure grounded in educational research.
