About Darius
Hi! I’m Darius — a DBS-checked tutor with over a year of experience helping students build confidence and excel in their studies. I went to Alleyn’s school and am currently studying French and Business Management at the University of Manchester, having achieved A-Levels in Economics (A), Maths (B), and French (B). At GCSE, I achieved top grades: English Literature (9), History (9), French (9), Physics (9), Biology (9), Chemistry (8), Maths (8), English Language (8), Latin (8), and Classical Civilisation (8). Alongside tutoring students aged 4 to 16, I’ve also worked as a gap assistant at both Thomas’s Battersea and Notting Hill Prep, where I supported Years 3–6 with both classroom learning and exam preparation. Having gone through the 11+ exam, Common Entrance and GCSEs myself I know exactly what strategies to use in preparing students to excel.

Each lesson is fully tailored to the student’s age and ability. I start by identifying any gaps in knowledge and building a clear, structured plan to help the student grow in confidence and understanding. Whether your child is preparing for the 11+, working towards a GCSE, or simply needs support to feel more secure in maths or economics, I adapt my teaching style to suit their needs. I use a mix of interactive questions, explanations, and exam-style practice to keep lessons engaging and effective. For younger learners, I focus on building strong foundations through repetition and encouragement. For older students, we’ll work on exam technique, time management, and how to break down difficult concepts into manageable steps. All sessions are friendly, focused, and built to help students feel motivated and capable — not just in exams, but in how they think and approach challenges.
