About John
Hi, I’m John—a maths tutor with a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a strong foundation in Algebra, Geometry, and other core secondary school maths subjects. I’ve worked with students across a range of levels, from those preparing for GCSEs and A-Levels to younger learners building their skills and confidence. What drives me as a tutor is helping students go from frustration to that “lightbulb moment”—when a tricky concept finally clicks. With years of experience tutoring both in-person and online, I bring patience, clear explanations, and a genuine investment in each student’s progress. I focus on building confidence and clarity—breaking down maths problems into manageable steps and helping students truly understand why the solution works, not just how. My sessions are typically 60 minutes long, though I’m flexible depending on the student’s needs. I’ve tutored students aged 11–18 in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus, and I tailor each session to the student’s learning style—whether that means visual explanations, real-world examples, or step-by-step practice. I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a strong academic background in mathematics. My lessons are ideal for GCSE and A-Level students, as well as younger learners who want a stronger foundation before exams.
