About David

I am professionally trained in Painting and Teaching via the Maryland Institute College of Art. I have experience teaching within the Baltimore City Education system and I have my own studio practice. I can wear many hats artistically and can adjust to the needs of my students.

Drawing and Painting was my first love and then came teaching. I love watching my students start to struggle with creating the image of their imaginations but finally "get it" through my instruction. When I am in my studio, its all about me and my work, but when I teach, it is all about them!

I began to teach as a student in College.

I recieved my BFA in Painting and my Masters of Arts in Teaching from The Maryland Institute College of Art.

About the lesson

Step 1. Pre-Assesment of their skills and abilities.
Step 2. Outlining student and professional goal targets.
Step 3. Discuss scope and sequence of those goal targets.
Step 4. Create a Calendar for lessons.

Mostly students 18 and under.

Standard Teaching Artist Pay is $50/hr.
Materials fee is $45 (This covers pencils, brushes, paper, paints) or Students can provide materials with recomendations from me.
