About Jeff

I am dedicated to teaching children and adults of all ages the techniques and skills needed to become an artist. Whether you want to inspire your three-year-old to express herself through paint, or you noticed that your ten-year-old has talent in drawing that you would like to encourage, or even if you have always wanted to try art but never knew how, I can help. I offer painting and drawing classes beginners and advanced students.

I enjoy providing classes for children, families, and adults looking to expand their artistic abilities. Through our painting, drawing, and specialty lessons, you can learn both the techniques and the skills needed to become an artist. Let loose your creative side. I enjoy passing on the love for art and what it has to offer for each individual.

I started teaching in the corporate world and then ended up in the classroom shortly after. I love paintin, scuplting, and drawing on the side for myself.

I have a BFA in Art and have owned and ran an art studio teaching all ages before I moved to Colorado. I have also been teaching art in the public schools for the past 10 years ranging from grades 2 through 12th. I have also been a private art tutor on the side as well.

About the lesson

I typically talk with them about their goals for the lesson, the budget they are looking at, and interest in continous lessons to improve and master that material.

I have worked with toddlers up to adults working on many different mediums. Some were quick starters and others took more time, but everyone of my students were fully capable of the mastering the art they were interested in.

I would ask the student to ask the following questions:

1. What are your qualifications?

2. Did you go to school for art?

3. Can you provide samples of your work?

4. What is your favorite type of art?

5. What can you do to help me master drawing, painting, etc?

6. Are you flexible how the lesson is taught and what is taught?

When I ran my art studio in Florida, I ran a paint workshop for autistic kids in Central Florida. It was a pleasure seeing their eye light up after seeing what they had accomplished.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

2. Can I pick the topic of the lesson?

3. Am I flexible on my goals for this lesson?

4. Am being realistic about my goals for this lesson?

Details

Given the state of the world, I prefer teaching remotely. I would charge $20 a hour. I love teaching art and know you would get the same feeling of accomplishment remotely. I would use Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, etc. I look forward to seeing you soon.
