About Helen

An award-winning artist for over twenty years, I teach abstract and realistic painting and drawing out of my studio at Chicago's Bridgeport Art Center.

I love sharing my passion and expertise with students wishing to explore their creative side or improve their painting and drawing skills. I regularly get five star reviews from my students who appreciate my enthusiastic teaching style. I meet the student where they are and help them achieve their creative goals. Years ago, a friend asked me if I would give she and her family painting lessons, which I did for her, her husband, and her son. Things just evolved from there and I started teaching out of my studio in California and now in Chicago. I've been doing it for years and I love it!

I studied drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture at the college level. I have taught abstract painting, sculpture as well as realistic drawing and painting for years out of my studio both in Chicago and in California.

About the lesson

I'm interested in learning what the goals are of each student. What do you want to learn and why? What - if any - experience do you have? And what do you hope to accomplish? I want to be sure I meet the needs of the student.
