About Lucca

-I am a local working artist and student currently seeking a degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I have 3 years of professional art experience (as well as a lifetime of recreational) and have experience teaching art to kids in afterschool programs

-I come from a traditional and contemporary painting background, with experience with sculpture, drawing, writing and art theory/history. I have worked with consultation based commissioned work as well as galleries and independent shows.

-I have a teaching approach that mimics that of my original art mentor who I met as an adolescent and who fostered the growth I needed to get to where I am now. All I want is to be able to inspire another generation of young artists, and through that, maybe learn something new myself!

Ive worked with afterschool volunteer programs related to art and done 101 painting tutoring, as well as hosting open studios involving local communities in collaborative art work!

I am a traditionally and contemporary trained painter with experience in realism, surrealism, and abstract work. I have worked extensively in both water media (acrylics and gouache) and Oils!

I've attended the Palette and Chisel Fine art school for figurative training and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for materials and surfaces. Beyond my training, I've worked at an art store for almost a year, so I have extensive knowledge regarding different materials and their interactions, compatibilities, and effects.

About the lesson

I like to talk to new students about what they want to learn and design a per class or longer term curriculum. I would love to have a chat about what it is you are interested in learning before starting. This way I can gather the specific supplies and plan around what you want to learn, so you get what you want out of it!

I volunteered at an at-risk elementary school and worked with all sorts of kids there, and have also done adult tutoring! I have worked with latinx students as a spanish speaker as well! (se habla)

Find someone that is experienced in the style you want to learn! I have quite a bit of reach but am not as specialized in a singular area, which means we can try out a lot of things! Our show! I threw a show with a good friend and fellow painter of our 2018 work and a bunch of collaborative paintings, and had a headcount around 200 in our old studio. We are hoping to have more events soon!
