About Lisa
Hello- I am an artist & a recently retired Art Teacher and School District Art Dept. Chairperson of 31 years. My specialites are drawing and painting, however, I also dabble in Sculpture & Ceramics, Photography & Graphic Design. I have taught all grade levels, but mostly High School Drawing & Painting and AP Art. In addition, I have exhibited my own art in several juried art exhibitions. I love helping my students learn techniques to improve their skills as well as develop ideas.
I attended Parsons School of Design for a few years as an illustration major, then transferred to LIU, CW Post where I earned my degree in Art Education.
I have two Master's degrees and have taught professionally for 31 years. I have also taken many workshops with well known artists as well as taught workshops to other art teachers through the Art Supervisor's Association of which I served as a Co-President for two years. I enjoy working in pastel, oil paint and colored pencils.

About the lesson

On the first session, we will meet and discuss your goals and expectations. From there we will develop a plan to meet those goals. We will discuss materials and supplies and what is needed.
I have worked with children of all ages and abilities. I have also taught adults.
Look for a mentor. Someone who will show you the ins and outs of reaching your artistic goals. For me, I gravitate towards people who are good at explaining things.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about what your individual artistic goals are, whether it be creating art for an AP portfolio or college portfolio or if you just want improve your skills as an artist.

My fee is $90 per hour for one-on-one tutoring or $75 per hour per person for groups of 2 or more.
