About Toby

We offer homeschool classes, special workshops, and individual instruction along with professional development programs for artists. With over 25 years of professional experience in studio art making, exhibitions, and networking world wide, Toby Penney offers the opportunity to share a broad range of fine art skills and her unique perspective with you.

I love getting to know other creatives and helping develop their skills so they can pursue their passion.

Toby Penney is a southern artist working in paint, photography, printmaking & multiple sculpture media. She creates work accepting, even glorifying simple objects & fleeting moments.

Penney holds a sculpture degree from Middle Tennessee State University. From 2005 until 2010 she held a Vitreography internship with Master Printmaker Judith O’Rourke at Harvey K. Littleton Studios, in Western North Carolina. She was honored when asked by the studio to photograph the process for the first Littleton sanctioned studio manual/ book about Vitreography. In the Fall of 2008 Toby was the guest artist in the printmaking department at Penland School of Craft, working with book/ paper artist Frank Brannon of Speak Easy Press.

Find Penney’s paintings in private & corporate collections and museums. . Her images can be found on the cover of Professional Artist Magazine and Hellbent Magazine and featured in Numinous Magazine, Feroce Magazine, and Polonium II, a book by David Downs, among others. About the lesson

I start with a conversation with perspective new students. My goal is to get to know him/her and clarify what goals the student has. Lesson plans and objectives are established to help the student best reach his/her goals and develop the skills to create the art desired along with establishing habits to extend art making into a lifelong appreciation.

Details

Most homeschool classes are priced 80.00 to 125.00 per month based on the number of classes you attend each week.

Workshop and specialty events start at 125.00. Final price is determined by the content and duration of the event to be established at booking.

Individual instruction is 45.00 per hour or can be purchased in blocks for a price break.
