I work with adults and gifted youth seeking to enter the arts as a serious hobby or profession.

The Master Art Instructor

Dmitri Wright’s career as a fine artist and art instructor began at the age of 20 when his mentor Samuel Brecher requested he take over his life drawing classes. From that year onward Dmitri has taught thousands, from beginner students to professional artists, the foundational methods of creativity within museum workshops to private lessons, the principles for studio and plein air painting and drawing. He teaches for the National Park Service, Silvermine Art Center . (concealed information) and (concealed information)

Instructorship

Wright is the Master Artist/Instructor for Weir Farm National Historic Site, the National Park dedicated to American Impressionism. Wright, in the tradition of John Henry Twachtman founder of the Cos Cob Art Colony, is the first artist-in-residence instructing and lecturing at the Greenwich Historic Society, the birthplace of American Impressionism. He instructs at Silvermine Art School and privately. In the USA and Europe he gives workshops and museum tours on ‘How to be an Impressionist’ in addition to being a judge for art shows.

About the lesson

Students who are interested in learning how to create and develop their own voice as an artist, are invited to participate in my Art of Creativity diagnostic process. Each student from beginners to professionals are provided individualized instruction based upon their skills and methods appropriate to their needs.

I have an hourly rate for individuals and a group rate for small groups. My fee is $120.00 per hour for individuals.
