About Nancy
My passion is helping individuals succeed in reaching their goals. My teaching is different because I am fluent in ASL (American Sign Language) so individuals who are Deaf can participate in my classes. I am also experienced in working with individuals who have disabilities. I have learned through my experiences that painting is a therapeutic way to release stress or emotional anxieties. I have been painting for 30 years, however I have been seriously painting for 10 years. I have taught an elderly group of ladies, as well as children and young adults. I also would like to mention i’ve Worked with individuals who have disabilities for 10 years working 8 of those years with the state of Mississippi as a Deaf Counselor. Achieving ones goals happens when people care enough to teach and encourage.
I enjoy working with people and watching them become amazed at their abilities. Art can be taught everyone has desires they want to try, well I encouraged everyone if it’s a desire then it is attainable with a little work and training. I challenge my students to dare to believe in themselves.
I started teaching about 10 years ago. I’ve had several ladies in my community who were senior citizens that wanted to learn how to paint. We had a group of people and we had so much fun. I’ve also taught children of age 810 on up to 14 Honda A paint with acrylics.
I have a BS in psychology with minors in Deaf Edu, & Speach pathology
I have certificates in my level of skills in ASL, working with Deaf/Blind individuals, working with a variety of individuals with different disabilities.
I have my art work in several businesses and have sold several

In teaching a student I first access where their understanding is of painting.
Once I’m confident I have a good understanding of the student’s knowledge then I move forward teaching from there.
while teaching I continually encourage them to have confidence in themselves and they will be surprised in their abilities to become creative.
I have worked with students who were very eager to learn, and they did a well good job.
Believe in yourself and you will succeed.
The recent event was a craft and art sale. I purchased a booth and had quiet a few customers.
