About Christopher

I'm a working illustrator in the field. My experience comes not only from a classical fine art background but also from many freelance illustration jobs in representational art and illustration.

I also have 16 years as an art instructor in Lafayette, IN.

Everything. Teaching in an extension of my fulltime life. I enjoy everything about teaching art because I draw and paint everyday.

I graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. In 2004, with other artists, we opened the Renaissance Academy where I taught art classes similar to what I will be teaching at the Kuchta Academy of Fine Art.

I have received my BFA from the Amercian Academy of Art in Chicago in 2000. I have also 16 years of teaching art classes at the Morton Community Center in West Lafayette Indiana and at the Renaissance Academy in Lafayette Indiana.

About the lesson

The initial contact with a new student first is a discussion as to what the student is wanting to accomplish. Based upon that discussion, we decide on a plan that will allow the student to be successful in the path they have chosen. Whatever path is taken, all lesson plans are tailored for each individual student's needs.

I have worked with all types of students. Students working on their portfolios for highschool and college, students who love art and just want to create art for recreation and I have also worked with students who want to create art professionally. Most of my students are over the age of 13 unless they are looking to take the Comics/Manga path, then they should be at least 10 years old.

Anyone can learn art, it just takes practice. You don't have to be gifted. Please contact me and we can discuss what you'd like to do.

I am a genre artist and I enjoy comicbook and sci-fi conventions in addition to other genre related art shows, conventions and festivals.
