About Charyl

We live in Fountain Square where we own an art gallery and are surrounded by artist and the artist movement. We show and sell our and others artist's work, hold fund raisers, classes and support our community. I've never known a life without art. Even as a small child my parents collected art and gave me the freedom to discover and create.

I eat, sleep and drink art. And surround myself with others that strive. Young (3yrs) to old (87yrs), begginners to experts. You never know who or what will inspire you or how! We are surrounded by color, new ideas and terrific people and a very cool businesses that seems more like fun than work.

Was requested due to reputation. Am constantly being asked to hold different classes. Has now become a way of life. This was how my photography business started and lasted for 20 years. (Was requested, turned into a job that led me to be a traveling photographer. Traveling the midwest and southern states.

Art has always been in my life. My father collected original art as does my family now. I was a self taught artists till later in life taking private classes then college courses. Graduating with 3 art associate degrees. Went on for my bachlor's and after my father became ill I quit to take care of him. I now make my living with art, selling mine and others art and helping my community by starting pop up classes for others.

About the lesson

First we see the students interests, goals, where the student wants to improve and go from there. Learning is a fun process and must always remain fun. Life is like a piece of art... A process. Charyl.

Many different ages. Was requested to do 2 classes at Ivy Tech 2 1/2 hours each. (Ages 18-25) Classes at recraft are 35-87yrs old. Classes at Acceleration are 20-35. (Furniture rehab 38-60yrs) At the gallery we do kids events 3-18 years of age. There is no one too young or too old to play!

Details

Depends on the situation, my classes are always negotiable but my normal pay (depending on the class being taught) is $15-$50 an hour. Am currently teaching different art classes at Recraft. Paint pour, mosaic, scrapbooking with decoupage, furniture rehab and upscaling, drawing and painting with many different mediums.
