About Shauna

I've been an oil painter for the past 15 years. I believe art can be a great stress relief, and a way to communicate things that can't be put in words, such as sharing the beauty of the world. Lessons with me will focus on having fun, while feeling proud of what you are able to accomplish (everyone is an artist!). Can't wait to work with you.

I love to laugh and have fun, so if you work with me you know you will be smiling! I enjoy getting to know people and helping them discover their talents. I also enjoy helping people bring more beauty to the world, and use art as a form of communication.

I am interested in teaching because I want to share my love of art with others. It is my way to relax and also to feel proud of what I can accomplish, and I want others to experience the same.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art - Oil Painting. I also have 15 years of experience with oil painting, and experimenting with other mediums. I've had several art exhibits of my work, and sold many pieces.

About the lesson

First, I want to get to know where the student is starting from and what their goals are. Then I cater a lesson plan based on their interests and skills. We will have fun building their painting skills, and experiment with different projects.

So far, I have not worked officially with any students, but unofficially I have taught friends in their 20s and 30s, as well as children.

Think about what you want to get from the lessons - do you want them to be fun and relaxing, are you looking to perfect your skills, or are you interested in becoming a professional artist? Then look for teachers that meet your interests.

I am very excited about the "Diversity United" art exhibit that is currently in Russia. It has a new piece from my favorite artist, Anselm Kiefer.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1) What are your goals for the lessons.

2) What type of medium do you want to learn? Oil painting requires a lot of equipment, while acrylic and watercolor do not.
