About Jim

Internationally recognized watercolor artist/teacher. I have taken students to France and Croatia for one and two week workshops. I have been teaching since 1991.

I love the medium of watercolor, although it is the hardest medium to learn.

I have won the Strathmore International Card Competition, and numerous local contests. I have taught privately and in the academic arena. I find great joy in sharing how to paint.

I only do watercolor painting. I do teach watercolor and drawing though. I love watercolor, but it is the hardest medium to learn. I teach drawing so people can learn how to 'see'! Watercolor loves the free spirit, but also loves discipline so it's a good for for me, and most of my students! You can see my portfolo at gensheersartstudio.com

Over thirty-five years teaching art and watercolor. Over 17 international watercolor workshops in Gascony France and Rovinj, Croatia. Numerous workshops with other recognized watercolor instructors, including many with William 'Skip' Lawrence

About the lesson

For one thing I do not teach in a progressive style - meaning I do not differentiate between beginner , intermediate or professional. Even as a professional we need to keep ourselves humble and help everyone trying this medium of watercolor. I'm a believer that through teaching we all grow.
