About Deanna

Hi! Would you like to learn how to draw or paint? Do you have a child that has an interest in art, but you're not sure how to encourage them? If you want to know more about art, then let me introduce myself!

I am Deanna, artist and educator. I have over 16 years of teaching experience. Most of the students I've taught over the years have been 6th-12th graders, but I have the patience and care for any level of student.

I have always made art, even when the majority of my time was spent teaching. I have my BFA in Painting and Drawing and a Masters Degree in Art Education with an emphasis in Painting. As a professional artist, I have shown work in various galleries, participated in numerous commissions, and have visited some of the most amazing museums around the world.

I am open to many options for lessons. I will have schedule for small group classes that anyone (age appropriate) could join. However, those will fill up quickly! If you don't like the idea of small groups and prefer a private lesson, that is ok too. Most lessons will be given in a place in downtown Palestine, but my studio is also available for older students and adults.

About the lesson

First, I give a short assignment without much help from me. This allows me to see what their abilities are. Then I will start with basic drawing techniques.
