I use art as a way to share and communicate thoughts and ideas. I encourage and welcome all skill sets because I truly believe that art is for everyone and there is no wrong way to make art.

Education

2016-2020; Bachelor's degree in fine arts from Metropolitan State University Denver. Primary focus of study in painting and ceramics.

2012-2015; Associates of the arts degree from Arapahoe Community College, Littleton, CO. Primary focus of study in arts education.

2004-2005; studied color theory, painting, figure drawing, and drawing at Rose State College, Midwest City, OK.

2002-2003; studies painting and drawing at Pueblo Community College, Pueblo, CO.

Work Experience

2019-current; freelance artist, designer, and pastry baker/decorator with D. Gyles.

2016; volunteer face painter for Pueblo's Junior League Touch a Truck event.

2012-2013; decorator for Le Bakery Sensual, Denver, CO.

2007-2008; decorator for Amphory Boutique Bakery, Chantilly, VA

2003-2007; decorator for Walmart Supercenter, Quail Springs, OK, Pueblo, CO.

About the lesson

First thing I like to do when working with a new student is ask what they're hoping to gain from their experience. I want to find out what it is they're passionate about and what gets them excited about life in general.

Next, I want to identify their skill set. This way we're sure to cover any and all bases without wasting money or time learning things they may already know. I want my students to be excited and have fun making and creating.

I will develop our continued lesson plan tailored to each individual's expectations, passions, and skill set.

Details

$20 an hour plus the cost of supplies. Supply costs vary per project. An additional $20 will be added for travel expenses outside of the greater Pueblo city area.
