About Gayle

I have over 20 years teaching experience in the public schools and have been certified to teach art k- 12 in two states. I have also taught students at the college level and adults. I have also worked as a professional artist, not just as a teacher, working in Atlanta, Georgia as a graphic designer for ten years . Working with creating art using computers. Now I am working only on my art, primarily ceramics and colored pencils, but in the course of my teaching years, I covered many subjects: painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture and various crafts. I worked on technical illustration at General Dynamics for several years, drawing parts for submarines. There was the place I began my computer skills. I am a good teacher. Many people are good artists and try to teach but teaching skills are a thing unto itself. I have learned to teach as well as create my art.

After I graduate d from college I started teaching in the public schools. I continued doing that until my retirement five years ago.

Ihave a BA degree in art education. I have a MA in media arts. Certified at times to teach in the public schools. Taught in the public schools for over 20 years.

About the lesson

I like to give them a simple lesson to start with so I can evaluate where their level is so I can fit the lessons to the student.

elementary to high school. Mostly high school. Also college students and adults at a college I taught at.

Id like to make sure myteacher had teaching experience and wasn't just an artist trying to teach. Teaching is a skill itself and you can be a great artist and not know how to teach your skills.
