About Ellen

I work with students from where their skills are now, no matter what level and inspire them to improve their art and increase their 'tool kit'.

Nothing makes me happier than your Ah-ha Moment. Because anything you keep trying to improve upon can reach a frustrating point, I love to get my students over the hump and finally see or grasp a concept or technique. I've received notes from students who say I awakened their talent and that is just a great feeling for everyone.

I'm a graduate of Ringling College of Art and Design with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art, specializing in Illustration,which includes drawing as well as painting. I have been teaching art to adults and children for the better part of 20 years while also working as a freelance artist doing T-shirt designs, portraits and logos.

About the lesson

I start off with looking at any previous work of the student in order to get an idea of the skill level we are starting from. After knowing the students goals for learning and how many lessons they plan to take, I can then work out a lesson plan custom suited to that persons ability, and time constraints.
