About Karen J

I take pride in what I do, and my students will tell you I have a lot of patience and their classes are fun.

Transmitting all I have learned to my students without reservations and at heart. Teaching and Art are passions of mine!

Right out of school, I became an adjunct professor at SNHU, and as Art Instructor since 2011 both in Colombia, S.A. and in the U.S.

I have over 10 years of experience teaching art to children 5 years old and up to 80 years young.

I studied at the Art League School in Alexandria, VA, and in Cali, Colombia South America with Plutarco Leon Idrobo Manzano and Guillermina Strohbach where I advanced my knowledge of oil and lithographic ink and with Jairo Rosas Miranda acrylic. In addition, and I took courses in the application of metal with Karen Christians at the Artisan Asylum in Somerville, MA. and I advanced my knowledge of watercolor with Clementina Ampudia.

In 1994 I received a Master's degree in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University.

We talk about your expectations of the class or your expectations as a parent for your child.

We decide on the best medium and I send you a list of materials.

We start working!

I can tell you each lesson is different because I tailor it to you or your child.

All ages from 4 years old up to 80+ years young. Including families as a shared activity.

I have exhibited internationally at the Louvre in Paris, The Florence Biennale, Italy, Colombia, Mexico and the U.S.

I never took a lesson in all of my fifty years and now am exploring, discovering and evolving my personal palate of colors that reflect my self understanding.
