About Karim

I am a Stanford University and UCLA graduate. I got my bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from UCLA, where I had tutored math and physics for all four years. I got my master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Stanford. In addition, I was a math, physics, and chemistry tutor throughout all four years of high school.

I love helping students and watching them solve the problems with their own methods and their own ideas. I especially like the fact that I get to learn from my students as they introduce different approaches and perspectives while trying to solve a problem. I never "spoon-feed" students the answers, I only guide them and push them in the right direction so they figure it out on their own.

I was a Learning Assistant at UCLA, a tutor at Chegg.com, and have been tutoring for more than 10 years.

About the lesson

I usually let students go over problems and get as far as they can. When they get stuck, I start dropping a few hints.

When explaining concepts, I provide a lot of examples and try to make it as intuitive as possible.

I expect students to be prepared and to at least have the chapters in the book read prior to our meeting.

If the student is completely lost and is struggling, I am willing to provide an explanation of the concept/chapter.

Deadly! Karim has been great. My daughter was EXTREMELY apprehensive but Karim immediately made her feel comfortable and she has been meeting with him every week. Karim explains and relates to her better than her teacher. He has helper her with her confidence and her grade has gone up as a result.

Deadly! Karim is very knowledgeable and was able to answer any question I had, as well as show tips and tricks when working through extensive problems. He also projected a very friendly and aspiring tone with each session. I would strongly suggest requesting Karim as a tutor because I have no doubt the his availability will surely be filled.
