About Austin
My service stands out because I am available almost every hour of every day and contacting my personal service is easy as sending me a text. I am attending UCCS as a mechanical engineer major, so most of what I am learning everyday in class and on my own, can apply in some way to what I am tutoring. I also love helping people understand topic that they're struggling with. For example, I often recieve many phone calls a week from my mom who is currently going back to school and taking math courses. Generally she does her homework and comes to me with her questions and so far she is recieving a 100% in her math class.
I enjoy helping people so they can experience those ah-hah moments when everything clicks and you finally understand something. To me that is such a satifying feeling that everyone can achieve in any subject that they are studying as long as they put in the time and effort. The great thing about tutoring is you can help somebody understand something with less time, less effort, and less stress. This is amazing for everyone because with less stress in learning, it makes it more enjoyable to sit down with your material and work on it.
I am still new to tutoring but in the past I have always enjoyed helping my classmates, friends, and family in academic studies. I enjoy learning and helping others learn so I've decided to start tutoring.
I am currently a junior in college at UCCS studying mechanical engineering. I also love to learn on my own using websites like edx, khan academy, udemy, and coursera. I feel strongest in my math and science skills. I have also learned some coding on the side including HTML, CSS, MATLAB, and a few others.

I prefer to get to know my clients fairly well and to see where they stand in their academic career and maybe talk about some of their goals and aspirations. Then we would tackle their biggest concerns first based off of what they struggle with the most. I think the best way for them to begin to understand something is a quick review followed by some worked out pracice exam questions. If they feel more comfortable with that topic, then we will move on to another topic before going back to review.
I have never had a 1 on 1 payed session with a client but I have tutored my mom and girlfriends in their respective math classes.
Before going to a tutor you should really put in your full effort to understanding a topic. My way of learning has definetly been more of a sit down and do the work kind of style. When I get stuck I take a break and then go back to it. I will watch youtube videos and other sources to help myself understand material; however, sometimes there is just nothing out there that suits what I am stuck on. This is when tutors are perfect. They can use their collective knowledge of a topic to help you understand where you went wrong or got confused. This is what leads to finally understanding a topic.
I recently moved to Colorado to continue my Bachelors Degree and so far it has been the best experience of my life. I love the mountains and going hiking. Recently I went hiking at Mount Muscoco in the North Cheyenne Canyon Park south of Colorado Springs.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I definetly live my life questioning everything. I find it the best way to settle on the most accurate and precise answer or belief. So when finding yourself stuck it is best to ask yourself as many questions as you can and answer them. Using the previous answers, you can use your intuition to try and solve some that you couldn't. Then the questions that are left over are the best ones to ask your teacher, BUT you should never be afraid to ask a question. There is no such thing as a bad question.
