About Carmel
Current high school teacher at Spring Valley HS and a math major at UNLV. I have tutored for 4+ years privately and also tutoring at the school. I have worked with variety of ages. I will provide quick and concise responses for those in a hurry, and slow, methodic teaching for those looking to understand the material on a deeper level.
I absolutely love teaching students and seeing them grow. Teaching math is a bonus because I think Math is great and fun. I want to be able to share how amazing math can be without. I'm not saying it won't be challenging but I think a one-on-one with the student will be a great help!
I am currently in Math Major at UNLV. I am starting the tutoring sessions as of this year because I would like to help students to understand math and not be afraid of it.

I like to see what they've learned so far, and where they're at with their current math course. It's very hard to retain everything in Math so it's essential to start with reviews and break down a schedule to make sure they get up to date with their current modules.
I have tutored for many UNLV students in our campus, and that's when I realized I really want to specialize in Pre-calculus and Algebra because those courses are what got me interested in Math in the first place.
My advice for students regarding math, don't be discredited when you can't figure it out. Math is all about repition and truth be told, teachers make a big difference in your learning. Never Give Up!

Deadly! Carmel is a lifesaver! She helped me understand the material and because of her I was able to pass my class. She is patient, smart, and dependable and worth every penny.
Deadly! Carmel was awesome! She was extremely encouraging when I doubted my abilities. Carmel always bent over backwards to meet with me, even if it was last minute. She was a great tutor and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need.
Deadly! The way she explained everything and went over the problems step by step
Deadly! Carmel fully relates to my 16 year old Daughter, Bella, and Bella understands Algebra and Geometry concepts and equations, thanks to Carmel's teaching style. Thank You, Carmel!! I can't give her enough Stars!
