About Oliver
I love math because I have come to learn how it is the basis of everything we see and do in the world, not just a subject to get tested on. I desire to show my students the beauty of math through a personal and custom academic experience.
Highschool courses: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, and Calculus III mixed with Differential Equations.
Marquette University Mechanical Engineering courses:
Calculus I & II (again), Physics I & II, Calculus III, Statics (vector math), Differential Equations, and majority of Mechanical Engineering courses.
I have also interned as a Mechanical Engineer twice at Husco Intl, an automotive component supplier based in Waukesha, WI. I have consistently had to use a wide variety of mathematics throughout my engineering courses and internships.

I will ask if the student is already aware of what specific topics they need help with. If they do not, I will spend some time going over a variety of short practice problems to assess their understanding. Finally, I will curate a personal plan of attack with them to target the specific areas needed to help them truly learn the material best.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe that every student should be aware of the reason for their lack of understanding of the material. True, there are some very poor teachers out there who do not care about their students, and I have had these teachers before. However, I have also had many classmates who always complain about their teachers no matter what, because they expect to understand the material immediately without any work put in.
Math is just like any other skill: some may be naturally more talented than others, but everyone can learn it with enough practice and dedication. Make sure you are doing your personal best before spending money on a tutor :)

Details
my base charge is $30 per hour of 1-on-1 tutoring. This is because I have a vast experience with mathematics through my mechanical engineering courses and internships. I also enjoy teaching and guarantee a personal, custom experience and will address any specific academic needs that you may not get from other tutors. However, I would be happy to discuss and negotiate the price for odd or special circumstances.
