About Rita
I am an experienced tutor, working both privately in home, in centers and at schools for several years. I have experience with students starting at age 8 years old. I have a passion for math and science, but also teach all other subjects.I have had great success with students of all backgrounds in many subjects.
I am graduating this may from Columbia University with a master of science in nutrition education. I am also starting my internship at Columbia University to become a Registered Dietitian. My undergraduate degree was a bachelor of science in health science, and have taken advanced level math and science courses.
In high school, I was a big sister in the Big Brother Big Sister volunteer program, and found my passion for helping students. I love to motivate and encourage students to reach their full potential through creating a comfortable environment.
I prefer one-on-one tutoring, but also open to small groups. I like to challenge my students and create a fun learning environment to help students fully understand the need for education. I like to teach students about logic and understanding, rather than approaching studying through memorization.
