About Monique

Jubilee Piano Academy offers piano lessons to all ages and abilities. The student has three options as to where the lesson can be taken: your house, my office, or online with Zoom.us. Family discounts are offered for more than two students.

Two piano recitals are offered: "Christmas on the Ivories" and the Annual Spring Recital.

"Miss Monique" has been teaching piano since her college years. She has taught easily hundreds of students and thousands of piano lessons. She is also an expert at teaching the sport of golf, and is also a Certified Bible teacher. She comes from an entire family of educators with more than 100 years of experience in teaching.

It is very fun to see all my students learn, change and grow into very good pianists and performers!

I have been teaching others since I was in high school: tutoring others students on writing thesis papers, teaching golf at Wanumetonomy C.C., and in college started teaching others piano lessons in a group setting.

I am a graduate of Salve Regina-The Newport College:

BA in Sociology and AA in Music. In my Sophomore year I was awarded the "Ernesto Vasquez Memorial Award for Excellence in Music."

About the lesson

The question is always: where is this student at? Then we go from there. Everyone has their own starting point.

I teach all ages. Piano students must be 6 years old and up.

Be willing to work, and try a little bit of every genre, or style of music. Rock'n'Roll does not "translate" very well to being a good pianist. If one can play a Beethoven Sonata, then they can play anything!

This past Spring Recital was a first! Instead of renting a local church, the recital took place on Zoom.us!!

Even some relatives of the families participating were looking at the recital from Florida, Texas, and even Washington state!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be truthful and realistic. Let your teacher give you the vision you might need! Goal-setting is very important: No, don't just take lessons aimlessly, the goal is to be able to perform in front of friends, family and however many others you can!!
