About Susan

I am an experienced piano teacher. I have been teaching since college, Texas Tech, about 40 years. I have taught in Lubbock, Cisco, Weatherford and Providence Village. I am primarily a classical teacher, but can also teach hymns, popular and whatever you want. I have many years experience as a church pianist and still do that on occasion.

I enjoy teaching very much and making new friends. I am qualified to teach beginners through advanced of all ages.

I love sharing what I already know how to do.

You do need a keyboard though for practicing at home.

I started as a student teacher under my college professors.

I studied at Texas Tech and have 40 years experience teaching both piano and voice.

About the lesson

I first like to get a little bit acquainted with a new student to put them at ease. Then I begin discussing the keyboard and point out the black keys and the white keys. Then we talk about electronic keyboards and the difference between an electronic keyboard and an acoustic piano.

I have worked with many various types. I feel that I have been very successful. My students always do very well in recitals, festivals and competitions. And it is not unusual for me to have students for many years, even after they graduate from high school.

Last Christmas season we had a lovely Christmas recital in the home of one of my students. It was very special.
