About Tom
I specialized in Theoretical Math at university, but became frustrated with the way many teachers seem to enjoy being difficult to understand. I became a teacher and taught math at 5 different levels. I then went on to a short career in programming, and am looking to enjoy some teaching again while living abroad.

There are always interesting and exciting connections to topic in math, you just might not realize it. My lessons emphasize building fluency and familiarity with the characters of math. Numbers, operations and equations might seem a little bit like aliens, but with my lessons you'll find math more familiar and understandable.
